SS Swimmers fall short in first meet of 2015 to Tell City HS

Both SS Boys and Girls Swim teams lost to Tell City in the first meet of 2015. But even after a 2-week break from meets some SS swimmers still managed to get their personal best times.

For the girls, Brianna Scherer (FR) swam the 200 Free for the first time this season and got 3rd place. SS's Gabby Blanchard (JR) finshed 1st and Maria Rust (SO) finished 3rd in the 200 IM. Alysia Thompson (FR) finished 3rd in the 50 Free with her best time of the season. Maria Rust got 1st place in the 100 Butterfly. Jessica McGinnis (JR) got 2nd in the 500 Free and 3rd in the 100 Backstroke.

In the boys events, Dane Sitzman (JR) took 1st place in the 100 Backstroke.  Cole Windbigler got 1st in the 100 Breaststroke and 3rd in the 200 Free. Wyatt Morris got 2nd in the 100 Butterfly and 2nd in the 200 IM with his best time so far this season.

First Swim Win of the Season vs Gibson Southern 12/18/14

SS Boys Swim Team WON 55 to 27 last night against Gibson Southern.  The boys got first place finishes in the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay made up of Cole Windbigler, Dane Sitzman, Wyatt Morris and Tyler Mallory.  Cole Windbigler also got first place in the 200 Freestyle, Dane Sitzman in the 50 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, and Wyatt Morris in the 100 Butterfly and 500 Freestyle.

The girls team lost to Gibson Southern but had 3 first place finishes. The 400 Free Relay team, Maria Rust, Jessica McGinnis, Brianna Mallory and Gabby Blanchard won with their best time ever. Gabby Blanchard also got first in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 IM.

All the swimmers had their personal best times in several events.
